Vincent Saliyo Omorie
Vincent Saliyo Omorie is a senior, who had worked in the Human Resource Management Department of the Nigerian Ports Authority where he retired in 2005 as Senior Manager and Head, Personnel Department. He, in the course of his service with the Nigerian Authority, read Law at the University of Benin, Benin City where he bagged the Bachelors of Law Degree in 2000. He was later admitted into the Nigerian Law School in 2002 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, in 2003.
His foray into the world of Alternative Dispute Resolution started in the year 2007 following his appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State of Nigeria in charge of Community Affairs – a position he holds till date and which entails in the main, peace building, conflict prevention, management and resolution.
Mr. Omorie, in an effort to build capacity for the challenges attending his new assignment with the Delta State Government attended several professional training courses on ADR starting with the Corporate Mediators, Lagos, the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators both in Nigeria qualifying him as Chartered Mediator and Conciliator of the Institute.
He also got certified by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, UK as a Mediator and member of the Centre’s Exchange program. He attended the Advanced Training of Trainers Course in advance negotiation organized by the Bon University Australia in collaboration with the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group, Lagos.
Mr. Omorie got certified by the Mediators without Borders as Mediator and Arbitrator to the ply the trade under license by the InAccord Mediation and Arbitration Services LTD, Boulder Colorado, USA. He is the Master License holder of the InAccord Mediation and Arbitration Services model in Nigeria.
He is an alumnus of a number of the national and International Institutions including but not limited to: (i) the university of Benin, Benin City (ii) the Nigerian Law School (iii) the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group (NCMG) (iv) the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, UK (v) the Mediators without Borders, Boulder, Colorado, USA
He is a member of the following professional Bodies:

He is the Chair of the Center for Peace International Mediation – a non-governmental Organization developing and promoting capacity in Alternative Dispute Resolution in Nigeria.
He is married to Rhoda with six children.
